A Fierce Patcha

TrustD

Dear Reader,

TrustD aims to make access control—whether IAM, network policies, or anything else—ridiculously easy.

Why this matters

Managing entitlements, audits, and access policies today means unpacking layers of implicit, undocumented rules. It's unreliable, error‑prone—and frankly, no one enjoys it. Worse, we've seen security erode when tools become too complex or pricey, or when identities are structured for GitOps convenience at the expense of least privilege. Security shouldn't demand sacrificing your sanity—or your budget.

The AI‑Agent Explosion

As AI agents begin accessing internal systems and data, access complexity will skyrocket. You'll need to frequently add and remove agents, fine‑tune permissions tightly, and stay vigilant. Manual management here is a recipe for chaos—both significantly reducing performance of security teams and increasing your time-to-prod for agents.

Why we built TrustD

  • Make implicit rules explicit—define who can (and can't!) do what.
  • Extend access control beyond IAM—to firewalls, VPNs, and any other system.
  • Let teams—compliance, DevOps, security, IT—work independently, without drowning each other in tools (or worse, endless meetings!)

What we believe

  • Policy-as-code for IAM & Network Access—declarative, auditable, version-controlled.
  • Fanatical focus on UX—we obsess over making access control intuitive and even enjoyable.
  • Open standards, not black boxes—we build on Rego/Opa and other open tools, not hidden proprietary systems.

What we're working on

We're in early stages, focused on our open-source audit agent—to deliver plug-and-play visibility and governance for access controls.

With optimism and resolve,
